  • I booked a superior big bed room. At that time, I booked other hotels first. Later, I saw that the information of this room was relatively large and the evaluation was also high. Finally, it was not as good as expected. For example, the room was not as large as shown and the breakfast was not good.City-view Queen Room

  • This hotel is impeccable in terms of price, location, environment, breakfast and so on. I will stay in this hotel next time I go to Shanghai. I live in a Riverview deluxe room, and my friend lives in a city view big bed room. If we consider the price, it is also a good choice to live in a city view big bed roomRiver-view Deluxe Room

Travelogue

  • I stayed at this river view house on the Bund in Shanghai for 3 days and was pleasantly surprised by every facility I found

This time I came to Shanghai for a short stay, I specifically chose a high-rise river view room with the name of the hotel. Originally, I only came for a view overlooking the Huangpu River. After staying for three days, I realized that none of the facilities in the room were designed for photography, and every detail accurately met the real needs of the guests. Even someone like me who is particularly picky about accommodation details cannot find any flaws.
The moment I pushed open the door, my first impression was that it was "spacious and fitting", without the fancy design of piling up internet celebrity elements. The modernity concealed a faint Shanghai style texture, and the restlessness that had just slipped in from the crowd on the Bund instantly subsided. The entire floor to ceiling observation window is unobstructed, facing the skyscrapers of Lujiazui and the Huangpu River. The double-layer soundproof glass completely isolates the sound of traffic downstairs. Even during the busy New Year's Eve period on the Bund, closing the door allows for a peaceful and exclusive view of the entire river. The curtains are designed with a double layered design of gauze curtains and thick blackout curtains. If you want to bask in the afternoon sun, you can pull open the thick curtains to leave a thin layer of gauze to filter out the glaring light. If you want to sleep in, you can fully pull up the thick curtains, even the morning light on the river cannot penetrate.
What surprised me the most was the zoning design of the lighting system, which did not have the dazzling main light of a typical hotel when it was turned on. Instead, the lighting was divided into four independently controlled modules: corridor lights, bedside reading lights, desktop office lights, and window ambient lights. If you want to stay in bed and read Shanghai old magazines for a while, turn on the warm reading light at the head of the bed. The light just falls on the pages of the book and won't flicker; To organize travel materials in front of the computer, turn on the cold office light on the desktop, and even the characters on the keyboard can be seen clearly; After taking a shower at night, I collapsed onto the lazy sofa by the window, turned on a warm yellow ambient light, and paired it with the flowing light strip of the river boat outside the window, instantly relaxing my whole being.
The configuration of the bedding completely exceeded expectations. The mattress is a moderately soft and supportive design. As someone with poor waist, I slept for three consecutive days until dawn without feeling any back pain or discomfort. I specially prepared two types of pillows, down and buckwheat. After trying them on, I told the front desk that I wanted an extra low pillow, and the staff delivered it to the door in 5 minutes. There are hidden ironing machines and dehumidifiers in the wardrobe. After wandering around for a day, the jacket that was damp by the river breeze can become dry after half an hour of using the dehumidifier. Within 5 minutes of meeting friends, the wrinkled shirt can be ironed straight.
The bathroom has undergone a complete separation of dry and wet areas, and the top of the shower area sprays water evenly like a drizzle. After walking for a day and standing under hot water for ten minutes, all exhaustion is completely dissipated. The countertop of the washbasin has enough space, and all the skincare products and makeup remover I brought are placed on it without squeezing. There are also spare bath salts and disposable care kits hidden in the storage cabinet under the table. Even the makeup remover cotton I forgot to bring was delivered to my room in just two minutes by calling the front desk.
After three days of stay, Shanghai Bund South China Harbour View Hotel did not have any facilities that were mediocre or useless, and everything was serving the guests' experience in a tangible way. It is an unexpected surprise to be able to live in a river view house with such attention to detail in the core area of the Bund, where every inch of land is precious.Show more

  • Shanghai Bund discovers treasure hotel! Pushing open the window, you'll see the stunning view of the Lujiazui three piece set

This time in Shanghai, I deliberately avoided the thousands of internet famous hotels along the Bund and stayed at Shanghai Bund South China Harbour View Hotel. After staying for two consecutive nights, I was pleasantly surprised - it was located at 53 Huangpu Road, a 10 minute walk to the Bund. Pushing open the window, I could take in the Lujiazui three piece set and the night view of the Huangpu River, and the cost-effectiveness was fully realized.
It only takes 10 minutes to walk from Tiantong Road Station on the subway, without having to drag a suitcase and squeeze through the crowds on the Bund. As soon as I entered the lobby, I felt the security of the old foreign-related hotel. The front desk staff could communicate smoothly in English. When I checked in, I heard that it was my first time to Shanghai. Before I could speak, I took the initiative to upgrade me to a high floor Jiangjingfang. I also handed me a handwritten guidebook, marked the nearby fried chicken restaurant and Garden Bridge of Shanghai card punching point that local people often go to, which was far more reliable than the online search strategies.
The moment when I opened the door, I was directly poked by the scenery in front of me. The whole french window was facing the Huangpu River. The Lujiazui three piece suit was straight into my eyes. The cruise ship on the river slowly opened with the light belt. The sunset dyed the river into gold, and even the white wall in the room was soaked in warm light. The space in the room is particularly spacious and bright, without the cramped feeling of hotels in the core area of the Bund. The bedding is soft, and leaning against the pillow, you can see the river view outside the window, making it particularly comfortable to fall asleep. The bathroom has been separated into dry and wet areas, with hot water coming out in just 3 seconds. After playing for a day, I came back and took a hot shower. I wrapped myself in a bathrobe and slumped towards the sofa by the window, watching the lights on the other side gradually light up. That unique romantic feeling of Shanghai came straight to me.
The details of the hotel are all thoughtful. The decoration completed in 2014 has no sense of antiquity of the old hotel. The multi-function hall and public rest area are bright and grand. In the morning, we have breakfast by the window. soybean milk, fried chicken and western bread are all very good. It's more comfortable to watch the river scenery while eating than to queue up to punch in at the online restaurant. The hotel's security is particularly solid, with staff patrolling 24 hours a day. After strolling around the Bund late at night, walking in the hallway feels completely calm.
There is no need to make a strategy when wandering around. You can walk 10 minutes to the Bund, and walk 5 minutes along Huangpu Road to Garden Bridge of Shanghai. There is no need to crowd people when taking photos to restore the ancient style. I want to go to the North Bund to watch the sunset. It only takes 10 minutes to ride a shared bike, and there are far fewer people than the Bund Observation Deck. The photos I take don't even need to be photographed. There are several local restaurants in the surrounding pedestrian circle that have been open for over a decade, and you can enjoy authentic Shanghai cuisine without having to travel long distances.
Staying for two nights, without flashy internet celebrity marketing, it was all real comfort and surprise. Compared to many Jiang Jing hotels that focus on appearance but are uncomfortable to stay in, this experience of being able to lie down and enjoy the river view is the most rare surprise when coming to Shanghai. Next time I come to Shanghai, I will definitely choose Shanghai Bund South China Harbour View Hotel directly.Show more
